Chenot Palace Weggis, the five-star medical wellness retreat, and Swiss flagship of the Chenot Group, has recently partnered with Greek innovators Nanobionic®, a tech company that produces bio-functional materials in several fabrics, including bedlinens. Chenot will now use Nanobionic®’s bedlinens in its Sleep Cycles rooms to further support optimal sleep and recovery. How?

The science

Our bodies constantly produce energy and disperse heat, which would go to waste unless we put it back into the body in a natural and efficient way. That is where Nanobionic®’s technology comes into play.

Nanobionic® consists of a soft, yet durable coating applied to fabrics. The coating is made of a blend of far-infrared-emitting minerals activated by the body’s heat and harnessing its energy to promote a better recovery.

Chenot’s Sleep Cycles

Many people experience problems falling asleep (increased sleep latency) and moving through the different sleep cycles, which results in low-quality sleep. The Sleep Cycles module is an optional addition to Chenot’s seven-day Recover & Energise detox programme, which was designed to revitalise the body and restore optimal energy levels. Sleep Cycles module features specifically timed treatments, respecting chronotype, to train the body and mind toward natural circadian rhythmicity and maximise recovery during guests’ stays.

Chenot Palace Wegis will use Nanobionic®’s bedlinens in its four Sleep Cycles rooms, which have been designed according to a protocol for understanding the interplay between light, sound, acoustics and temperature and their impact on sleep quality. The rooms are equipped with technology to transmit the sounds of nature into the bedroom and mimic the natural acoustic environment. Special panels on the ceiling also ensure the sound is refracted as though from trees and leafy canopies.

Nanobionic®’s bedlinens are another piece of this intricate sleep puzzle, which also includes Dagsmejan sleepwear, designed to release excess heat to avoid overheating or shivering with cold. The heat is then captured by Nanobionic® and converted into FIR (far infra-red).
